Mailing List Subscribers

If you choose to subscribe to the mailing list, you will receive occasional Hewn updates, such as upcoming shop updates or new class times. Don't worry, emails are infrequent. You won't be bombarded with loads of emails! Of course, your details are stored securely. I operate a 'double opt-in' system, meaning that your email address is not added to the database until you have confirmed your consent via a confirmation email. 

Mailing lists are processed by the third party manager MailChimp whose use of your personal information is governed by its own comprehensive privacy policy which is GDPR compliant. The following is an excerpt from this policy: 'subscriber lists are stored on a secure MailChimp server. We don’t, under any circumstances, sell your lists, contact people on your lists, market to people on your lists, steal your lists, or share your lists with any other party, unless it’s required by law'.

Third Party Payment Processors

Payments to the Hewn Store are currently transmitted, via an encrypted connection, to the third party payment processor, Stripe, for processing. Stripe 'has been audited by a PCI-certified auditor, and has in turn been certified as a PCI Level 1 Service Provider, the most stringent level of certification available. You can confirm Stripe’s certification in Visa's registry of service providers'. Use of your personal information is governed by the Stripe privacy policy which is GDPR compliant.

Customer Information

When you make an order, your email address, postal address, name and, if entered, your phone number are stored on the Squarespace servers to allow me to complete and send the order. These details will never be shared with any other third parties. For more information about how Squarespace processes and secures information, read their Privacy Policy.

Customer Accounts

If you create a customer account on this website, personal information is collected to improve your checkout experience and our customer service.

This information may include your:

  • Billing and shipping address(es)

  • Details about your orders

  • Email address

  • Name

  • Phone number

We share this information with Squarespace, our website hosting provider, so they can provide website services to us. For more information about how Squarespace processes and secures information, read their Privacy Policy which is GDPR compliant. Additionally, their Privacy Shield certification can be seen here.

You may choose to save your credit card details for a faster checkout experience. These details are stored by my payment processor, Stripe (see above for details). It is not possible to save PayPal or Apple Pay details to your Hewn account.

Cookies and Tracking

Squarespace uses cookies to track your use of websites hosted by them, including Hewn.ie. There is also a Facebook tracking pixel on the website, which tracks visits and use of this website by facebook users. This is to enable me to track where traffic is coming from to inform my promotional activities.

Order and Account Emails

I may email you with messages about your order or account activity. For example, I may email you to tell you that:

  • You’ve created a Customer Account

  • Your Customer Account password has been reset or updated

  • You’ve made a purchase

  • Your order has shipped

It’s not possible to unsubscribe from these messages.

This website uses font files from Google Fonts and Adobe Fonts. To properly display this site to you, servers where the font files are stored, may receive personal information about you, including:
